This class will focus on the nuts and bolts of the County's budget development process. The purpose of the class is to provide perspective that is not given in the budget instructions to departments, answering questions like "What does the Administrative Office looking for?" County Budget Director Emily Jackson and Administrative Analyst Lisa Howe will provide tips for how to prepare a strong budget proposal and will identify resources available to departments who are looking for guidance before and during budget development time. This class is intended for staff who are directly involved in the budget process- particularly those who are involved in writing narratives to provide justification for status quo budget numbers and Budget Augmentation Requests. Staff are encouraged to attend regardless of whether they are new to the budget process or have been doing it for years!
